Jamie Vardy has signed a new four-year contract at Leicester - meaning Halifax will miss out on a sell-on windfall they would reportedly have received had he moved to Arsenal.

Vardy looked set to join The Gunners for £20m - a move which according to Fleetwood chairman Andy Pilley would have resulted in Halifax receiving share of the sell-on fee his club would have had.

But Vardy, who helped fire Leicester to the Premier League title and is currently playing for England at Euro 2016, has now decided to stay with The Foxes, who he joined from Fleetwood for £1m.
